Cami in "The Beginning of the End"...

disassociates when she experiences a clash of tense emotions. Lyle told Cami he wanted a family with her, and when she tells him they made that dream come true, Lyle recants the promises he made. Lyle demands Cami to get rid of the baby; as a result, Cami experiences dissonance, which is a combination of two opposite situations. Her reaction to the situation is to emotionally check-out in order to cope with her new reality.
